SkillCycle and BackEngine are partnering to connect real workplace behavior with coaching.
BackEngine makes the signals buried across company systems safe and usable for AI. SkillCycle turns those signals into coaching that helps people change how they work while outcomes are still in motion.
01Why this partnership is important
The best coaches notice things about us that we cannot see ourselves.
They notice when confidence turns into defensiveness. When a new hire stops asking questions even though they are still confused. When a manager crosses the line between helpful nudges and micromanaging.
The problem is that coaches rarely get to see those moments. Most coaching begins afterward, with our recollection of what happened. The signals exist. They are in calls, emails, Slack threads, our customer interactions, CRM records, and the thousands of small exchanges that make up a day of work.
Until recently, there was no practical way to gather those signals, connect them, and make sense of them as the work unfolded. AI changes that.
02Access to the data creates two new problems
First, the AI needs to understand what it is looking at
A company is ultimately a collection of people making decisions and interacting with one another. Customers talk to salespeople. Managers coach employees. Teams debate priorities. Someone raises a concern; someone else misses it.
The sum of those interactions eventually becomes the performance of the company.
But the evidence of those interactions is fragmented across calls, emails, Slack, CRM records, tickets, and dozens of other systems.
Ask AI to summarize one meeting and it will usually do a good job. Ask which customer relationship is at risk, why it matters, and what evidence supports that conclusion, and the problem becomes much harder.
Ask which customer relationship is at risk, why it matters, and what evidence supports that conclusion, and the problem becomes much harder.
Now the AI has to know where to look, understand how people and interactions relate to one another, and apply a consistent definition of something as subjective as “risk.” Ask the same question three times and you may still get three persuasive, but different, answers.
BackEngine makes internal company knowledge secure and usable for AI.
It connects those fragments into coherent, permission-aware context that AI can reason from consistently, while preserving the evidence behind every conclusion.
Second, knowing something is wrong does not mean knowing how to change it
AI can identify that someone dominates customer conversations. Does it get the nuance when someone avoids difficult questions, or becomes less effective under pressure? Does it know when you’ve missed an opportunity to build a connection or develop a new skill?
Awareness is only the beginning.
Behavior changes through feedback, practice, and intervention close enough to the moment that someone can actually try something different next time.
That is the problem SkillCycle is solving.
SkillCycle’s AI coaching engine, Aida, turns real performance signals into coaching while there is still time to affect the outcome, and their network of more than 300 certified human coaches are available on-demand for the moments that require human judgment, deeper dives, or ongoing reinforcement and skill building.
03This is where the two systems become much more powerful together
BackEngine establishes what actually happened. SkillCycle helps someone do something differently because of it.
The work becomes evidence. The evidence becomes coaching. The next interaction becomes a chance to practice. And that interaction becomes new evidence.

Imagine what becomes possible when a coach no longer has to rely only on the story of what happened. What patterns become visible? What signals get caught earlier? What changes when feedback arrives while there is still time to act on it?
That is what this partnership between SkillCycle and BackEngine opens up.
